Matching gift for Reporter donations

By: Reporter staff

An anonymous donor has agreed to match up to $10,000 for donations made to The Reporter’s Voluntary Subscription Drive. A letter asking for voluntary donations in support of the paper was sent last week to all members of the Jewish Federation of Greater Binghamton.
“This is wonderful news,” said Rabbi Rachel Esserman, executive editor of The Reporter. “It’s getting more and more difficult to get advertising, so all community support is appreciated. Our very small staff works hard to create a paper worth reading.”
Sima Auerbach, executive director of the Federation, noted, “The Reporter is the one-stop place to find out what’s happening in our Jewish community. Whether you’re interested in what’s happening at the Federation, the JCC, Hillel Academy, the synagogues or the College of Jewish Studies, it’s all in the paper. There are also articles about members of our community doing interesting things and articles of interest about Israel, which means there is something in the paper for everyone.”
Shelley Hubal, incoming executive director of the Federation, added, “I’ve come to realize the value of The Reporter when it comes to making certain people know what is happening in our community. Whether it’s the film fest, organizations’ annual meetings or events, the paper lets you know what’s happening.”
To make a tax deductible donation, send a check made out to The Reporter to 500 Clubhouse Rd., Vestal,NY 13850, or stop by The Reporter office. For more information, call 724-2360, ext. 254.
