Chabad to hold Mega Challah Bake

Joining communities across the states and around the world, Chabad – in co-sponsorship with local community organizations – will host a Mega Challah Bake during which hundreds of students and community members will join in mixing, kneading and shaping challahs, one of which they will keep and one of which will be given away by participants to someone who would appreciate the gift.
This years’ Mega Challah Baking event will be held on Thursday, October 26, at 7 pm, in the Mandela Room at Binghamton University. The fee is $5 for community members with reservations made in advance ($7 at the door) and $3 for students with reservations ($5 at the door). Each participant will receive an apron as well as two challahs. Reservations can be made at
“Building on the success of the Mega Bake in previous years, we hope to bring the community together in a fun and easy celebration of Jewish heritage. In our case, we will be uniting our campus and local communities, through campus and local Jewish organizations co-sponsoring, and lots and lots of people coming out to enjoy this activity together,” explained Hadasa Slonim, coordinator.
Local community sponsors include the Binghamton Hadassah Chapter and the Sisterhoods of Beth David Synagogue, Temple Concord and Temple Israel.
